Andrew Horrocks Bio

Andrew Horrocks is a producer/guitarist from Kitchener Ontario Canada. For the last 30 years, Andrew has run his own recording studio called AME Recording Studio. The “A” stands for Andrew, the “ME” stands for Margaret Ellen, Andrew‘s wife of almost 40 years!

After studying music at Humber College in Toronto and studying recording engineering at Fanshawe College in London Ontario, Andrew got a job as an engineer working for Rick hutt (Tom Cochran/The Northern Pikes) and Doug Biggs at Cedartree studio in Kitchener. After working with (and being mentored by) Rick and Doug for six years, Andrew built his own studio and he has been busy ever since!

While developing his studio career as an engineer and producer Andrew was recording and performing with his bands The Awakening (1985-1992) and One Hundred days (1992 to 2000). The Awakening signed with Reunion Records (Amy Grant, Michael W Smith) in 1987 (Nashville) and One Hundred Days signed with Liquid Disc (Vector, Jimmy A) in 1996 (Nashville).

While neither band sold Millions of records, the experience of touring and recording seven albums helped shape Andrew as a musician, song-writer and producer.

Since the year 2000 Andrew has stuck close to home and focussed on a career that has seen him produce over 300 albums. He and his clients have received dozens of Covenant awards (Canadian Gospel Music awards) and several Juno nominations during this time.

Then, Andrew decided to start playing live again. “Something shifted inside me, I wanted to slow the Studio thing down, and I wanted to get out there and enjoy playing live again. Over the past few years, Andrew has put together a dance band with some close friends called “TBH”. TBH stands for (Ian) Tanner, (Nancy) Bodsworth and (Andrew) Horrocks.

The “Upside of Maybe” based out of Stratford Ontario, is the other band that Andrew plays with. Upside is an energetic roots-rock band fronted by two other close friends Michael Bannerman and Scott Bannerman. “I’m so glad I made the move to start playing again. I’m having way too much fun!”
