Description
The Dr Z Z-Wreck is one of those amazing amps!
One of the great things about the Kemper is that you are able to have access to certain vintage and boutique amps, that you may never get the chance to plug into in your lifetime.
You probably know that that Dr. Z and Brad Paisley famously designed the Z-Wreck together. This is a single channel amp that is all about the tone! Brad Paisley wanted something that inspired him like his 1964 Vox AC30 and together they created a one of a kind tone monster!
For the profiles, I used my Strat, my P90 tele, my 1974 telecaster with David Allen vintage pick ups……..as well as my Duesenberg Starplayer and Gretsch Duo-jet with TV Jones pickups. I used a variety of speaker cabinets for these profiles but focussed on the Dr Z, cab which has one Alnico blue and one Alnico gold speaker. The other cab that paired beautifully was my Celestion G12-65 loaded custom 2×12 Fowler cabinet.
I am MORE than thrilled to have had the incredible Paul Chapman demonstrating these profiles. Paul has been one of the premier Country guitar players in Canada for a couple of decades now and is a member of the critically acclaimed Western Swing Authority.
As I mentioned, the telecaster profiles in this pack were created with my 1974 Fender Tele with David Allen pick ups and it is a fairly bright Guitar. Interestingly, the bridge pick up in Paul’s thin line tele is an original 1963 tele pick up that is much warmer than the bridge pick up on my guitar. All that said, whether your guitar is bright or dark, or somewhere in between, these profiles work great.
If you ever need any help tweaking the profiles to suit your instrument, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
I hope you enjoy these sounds from this incredible amplifier.
Important: OK, I know there are a lot of profiles but this is wonderfully complex amp and we want you to find the profiles that are best for your particular guitar, again start with the profiles in Blue from the youtube video.
