Description
AME Marshall Vintage-Modern 2466 Profile Pack
Manufactured between 2006 and 2013, the Marshall Vintage-Modern 2466 is an incredibly complex and versatile amp that was designed to be the next step in the evolution of the famous Marshall Plexi. The Marshall Vintage-Modern became a favourite of artists such as Slash, Paul Gilbert and Robin Trower. It is an under-appreciated genius of a design that can do it all….from Fender like cleans, AC/DC snarl, 80’s and 90’s rock and Modern Metal. Due to the dual input knobs (like a “jumped” Plex), a high and low dynamic range button and a Mid-boost button, the amp was a little harder to dial in…..so sadly, it went under-the-radar with a lot of Marshall fans. This is a detailed profiling of one of Marshalls best designs.
MARSHALL VM 2466-Naming Convention
- If the Profile has a capital “G, S or T” and the end of the name, the profile works best with a Gretsch, Start or Tele.
- Crun (crunch)-refers to anything from light drive/distortion to heavy drive/distortion with the amp in High dynamic mode.
- M-Crun (Mid-crunch)-refers to anything from light drive/ distortion to heavy drive/distortion with the amp in HIGH dynamic mode AND the Midrange boost button engaged.
- EDGE-refers to anything from light drive/distortion to heavy drive/distortion with the amp in LOW dynamic mode AND the Midrange boost button engaged.
- CLN mean CLEAN (Low dynamic mode)
- A letter (A,B,C,D) at the end of a profile name means that a slightly version of the same gain amount. Mic placement or mic level may be different.
- + a plus sign means that a Kemper boost has been used to add some “tone or sustain” to a profile.
- A small “gr” in the name means that the profile was made with a “Marshall 425a 4X12 Cabinet loaded with custom Greenback speakers”.
- A small “v” in the name means that the profile was made with a “Mesa 4×12 Cabinet loaded with Celestion V30 speakers”.
- A small “g” in the name means that the profile was made with a “Custom 2×12 Buzz Freiten designed 2X12 cabinet loaded with Celestion G12-65 speakers”.
- SD1, SD2 etc….means a profile was created with the help of a Boss SD1 pedal
- KOT means that a profile was created with the help of a Analogman “King of Tone Pedal”
- OCD means that a profile was created with the help of a Fulltone “OCD Pedal”.
- PK mean that aa profile was created with the help of a TC “Spark Boost”.
